About Dr. Robert Bloom
Dr. Robert F. Bloom is a retired Captain in the United States Navy Reserve having served in Desert Storm, various Naval Hospitals and in the field with the United States Marine Corps. He attended the University of Indiana in Bloomington, Indiana where he majored in Chemistry and Spanish. He received his medical degree from Loyola University at Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1973. Following his internship, Dr. Bloom accepted a position as a Resident in Dermatology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He later successfully completed a one-year fellowship with Dr. Frederic E. Mohs at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Bloom is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Society for Dermatological Surgery. In addition, he was an Associate Professor at the University of Miami and is currently serving as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Bloom believes in a conservative approach and respectfully considers each patient’s individual needs when choosing the best treatment option. When not in the office, Dr. Bloom enjoys cattle ranching, hunting, water sports, traveling, aviation and spending time with his wife Jacquie and their six children.
